Hello MAS families! What a beautiful day to end the week and move into the first ‘Family Day’ long weekend. We hope that you enjoy your day with your family, as we will with ours. We began our Leo Hayes student Leadership clubs today. Students participated in a variety of activities- snow shoeing/walking club, science club, art club, Yoga, gym activities, outdoor activities, and dance club. Students will rotate each week and get a chance to visit each activity.
Food Drive- We are continuing with our Food Drive. Our 100th day of school will be Tuesday, February 20th. Let’s see which classroom can bring in 100 food items for donation
Items that the Community Kitchen is in need of are as follows:
- pasta (eg. spaghetti, Kraft Dinner, any other pasta)
- canned goods- soup, tuna, salmon, canned fruit, canned vegetables, any kind of beans, etc
- Microwave popcorn, fruit cups, instant oatmeal
Please send items in with your child or drop off at the school. We will collect for the entire month of February but would love to have 100 items per class so the children can do some math activities with them. Happy 100th Day!
Skating- Please be sure to complete the form and return it as soon as possible. We want to make sure that students are prepared for that field trip. Skating will take place on Thursday, March 1.
Hot Lunch Order Forms- March hot lunch order forms are due back on Thursday, February 22nd. Please note that in the month of March there are two pre-paid orders (missed due to snow days). There is a pre-paid order for bagels and one for pizza.
MAD Science- MAD Science will have a two make up days for the missed classes. The program will now run until April 9th.
UCup/Coupe 2018 UNB Hockey Forms Gr. 3-5- Please return your form with a yes or no response ASAP. That will help us to determine what students will be going and what students will not.
Dr. Seuss Winter Fun Week- On the week of Feb 26 to March 2nd we will be having a ‘Seusstastic’ time here at MAS with lots of planned fun activities and learning for students.
Monday, Feb.26- Cat in the Hat Day- Wear a crazy hat.
Tuesday, Feb. 27- Seussville Olympics- outdoor activities from 8:45-10:30am.
Wednesday, Feb. 28- Pink Shirt day for Anti-Bullying and Wacky Hair Wednesday
Thursday, March 1- Fox in Socks Day- Wear crazy socks and Skating at Willie O’Ree
Friday, March 2- Official Dr. Seuss Day and Green Eggs and Ham day- wear green and enjoy a special breakfast of green eggs and ham here at school.
