Hello MAS Families! It has been a BUSY week at
MAS. We started the week with a great morning of track and field fun for our
grades 3-5 students. Our K-2 students took a trip to the downtown public library.
They came back very excited to share about their adventure and about the
books they brought back. Our grade 4/5 class participated in their last
swimming class then enjoyed a special visit to Nasis Middle school.
Our grade 5s got to experience the cafeteria, while the grade 4
students visited the public library there. Library visits are a
wonderful way to foster a love of reading in your child. We ended the
week with a wonderful volunteer breakfast and STAR student
assembly.
We now move into
June. It is truly hard to believe we are at the last month of the
school year. Time flies when you have fun!!!
Reminders:
Grade 3-5 District Track and Field
Day- On Friday June 7th (rain
date June 11th)) Selected grade 3-5 students will be traveling to Nasis
Middle to enjoy a morning of track and field events. Students will need
to come to school prepared to participate- dressed appropriately, sneakers,
hats, sun screen, water bottle, and snack. We will be leaving MAS at 8:30am and
returning at approximately 1:30pm.
Breakfast Program- Tuesday (June
4th 2019) - Breakfast will be pancakes and
fruit.
MAS Color Splash Dash REGISTRATION- This is our BIGGEST
fundraising event of the year and we want YOU to be a part of it. It will
be a great morning with snacks, prizes, music, bubble machines, and LOTS
more!!! There are lots of options to sign up so
invite anyone and everyone! This fundraiser will help us pay
for year end field trips, Family BBQ, Clusters, and enriched student
learning. We hope to see everyone there!!

Green Hill Lake Camp- Our year end whole school field
trip to Green Hill Lake Camp will be on Monday, June 10th. A
notice will be going home Monday with a list of items students will need to
bring along with them.
Drama and Spring Concert- On June 5th at 10:30am we will be
having our Drama/Spring Concert. Parents are invited to join us to
see our drama students perform "Jillian Jiggs", along with
hearing our k-5 classes take the stage to share a song. We look
forward to seeing you here!
Jump Rope for Heart- Thank you to all that participated. We had another very
successful year in raising funds for a great cause.
Grade 5 Parents- Reminder of Family and Student Orientation on
Monday June 3rd at 6:30pm at Nasis Middle School.
Home and School- Meeting at 6pm. Everyone welcome to attend.
Community Garden- We are in the process of building a community garden
and have lots inside ready to replant. We are looking for families that would
be willing to volunteer a night or two over the summer to help tend to the
garden. If you are willing to help out or would like more info please call Roxy
in the office 453-5422.

to York Care.
Tuesday June 4 Tots N Taters Hot Lunch. Home and School meeting
6pm.
Wednesday June 5- Drama and Spring Concert
Thursday June 6- Great Canadian Bagel hot lunch. Creative
Clusters.
Friday June 7- Tots N Taters hot lunch. District Track and Field for
selected grade 3-5 students. LHHS leadership visit.
Saturday June 8- COLOR RUN DAY! Fun and excitement begins at 8:30am.
