​Week two of the new year has been great! Students are settled in and lots of fun learning is happening. I want to THANK parents that were able to attend our Parent Welcome Night. Hopefully you found this evening informative. If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher. 

This week we will focus on 'KINDNESS' in honor of Becca Schofield Day.  Rebecca was a student in Riverview, NB that had one wish for people to do random acts of kindness. You may have heard of #BeccaToldMeTo. She believed acts of kindness did not have to be big or expensive- they just need to come from the heart. We will be encouraging students to do random acts of kindness for each other and to continue all through the school year.

A few reminders: 

Students Fees- Reminder that student fees are due. The cost this year is $45. This can be paid online or at school. 

Apple Picking Field Trip- Information went home this week. Reminder the cost of the trip is $4 per student. I would like to thank our home and school for covering the remainder of the fee. 

Recess/Weather-We have had some beautiful days to start the year, but we know the rain/cold will be upon us soon. Please be sure your child is dressed for the weather. We will go outside during recess time as much as possible, unless the weather does not permit (heavy rain, cold temperatures). This means if it is drizzling out. windy, snowy, etc. we will be getting outside for some fresh air and free time. Please make sure your child comes prepared to be outside for the weather- coats, rain boots, hats, mittens, etc. It is also a good idea ( no matter the grade level) to have a change of clothes in your child's back pack or left in the classroom. 

Picture Day- Reminder on Thursday, September 19th is picture day. Wear your best smile! 

Breakfast Program- Our breakfast program will be starting this week on Tuesday. This week students will be having cereal and fruit. All students are welcome. When they arrive on the playground they come right inside the grade 2-5 door and come downstairs to the gymnasium to enjoy breakfast with friends.

Monday, Sept. 16-  Hot lunch. Great Canadian Bagel. October Hot Lunch forms going home. 

Tuesday, Sept. 17- Breakfast Program. Hot Lunch Tots N Taters

Wednesday, Sept. 18- Cross Country for students in grades 3-5 that have joined at Henry Park. 

Thursday, Sept. 19- Picture Day. Wear your best smile.  First day for milk program. Hot Lunch Tots N Taters

Friday, Sept. 20- Hot Lunch Papa Johns.

Upcoming Dates:

September 21st- Kindness Day- Becca Schofield Day

September 24th- Home and School and PSSC meeting 6pm

September 25th- Hot Lunch October due back. 

September 26th- Apple Picking- $4 per student

September 27th- Terry Fox Walk. Asking students to make a $2 donation. 

September 30th- Orange Shirt day to honor the children that attended Indian Residential schools.
