Families! Hard to believe we are already in the last week of February! I
want to ‘Thank’ all the families that attended our Family Literacy Night on
Wednesday. There was lots of great information and ideas shared to support a
love of reading at home. This coming week is our winter fun “Bunch of Munsch”
week. Be sure to check each day the fun planned.
Reminders:
Pink
Shirt Day- Thank
you to all the families that purchased Pink shirts. They will be arriving here
at school on Monday, February 24th.
Sunshine
Program-
Every Friday! Students in grades k-5 are invited to be dropped off
between 7:20-7:30am (Students will NOT be allowed to attend if arriving
after 7:30am). Students will enter front doors and go directly to classroom and
put on indoor sneakers, then head down to gymnasium.
Breakfast
Program- Breakfast
on Tuesday, Feb 25 Eggs, toast and fruit.
Home and School and PSSC Meeting- We will be meeting Wednesday,
February 26. Home and School meets at 6pm and PSSC at 7pm. All are welcome to
attend.
Bunch a
Munch Week- March 24-28 we will celebrate one of our favourite Canadian
authors: Robert Munsch!

February 27: So Much Snow!
We will be
heading to Odell Park for a morning of snow shoeing and sliding. Be sure your
child dresses for the weather! Students will be in two groups- one sliding and
one snow shoeing. We will have our lunch and hot chocolate at the lodge. Tots N
Taters will be delivered to the lodge. Hopefully it won’t be 50 Below Zero!
Friday,
February 28: Pyjama Day!
Hop out of
bed and put on a fresh pair of PJs!
Skating- After March break we will be going
skating on March 17th at Willie O’Ree. We do have
skates and helmets here at the school for students that require. A notice will
be coming home Monday.
Grade 5
Swimming- Starting
on March 13th the grade 5 class will be participating in the
district swimming program at Nasis indoor pool. Please be sure your child comes
to school prepared for the sessions. They will travel by bus to Nasis Middle
School. Bathing suits, towels, and plastic bag for wet clothing after. Be sure
if your child comes to school already in their bathing suit that they bring
everything needed to change into after.
