Oh-oh, I forgot to post last week. Sorry everyone!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone tonight (Thursday and Friday) at Parent/Teacher interviews. If you have a problem getting in please let me or Mrs. Yerxa know so that we can schedule another time. I know that things change and plans go out the door sometimes.

Next week, our new sight words are that, there, going, made, make, said. We'll be talking a little about "magic e" which makes the vowel say its name. This is a big change from when we talk about what the letters normally say (the short vowel sounds). Encourage your child to notice those long vowel markers (2 vowels together, magic e, etc)

We are continuing our writing and we just learned about the ! exclamation mark. Our writing is going to be exciting!!!

In math, we are working on skip counting by 2s, 5s and moving onto 10s. We'll be talking about number words to 20. We've been working on this and other concepts for quite a while now so I'm sure they will do well with this.

We have  also started working on some positive behaviour rewards at the end of every week when we have a class meeting. The children are focusing on listening to the teacher and doing what they are supposed to do. This gets their name in a jar and I pick a winner at the end of the week to win a prize. So far, so good.
