​Hi Everyone!

Here we are heading into the last full week of April and we see snow! I don't know about you but I am DONE with the snow. Bring on the sunshine, warm temperatures and flowers.

The playground these days still has snow on it and lots of muddy spots. Please remember to put in some extra clothing in your child's backpack (socks, pants, etc). Also, the mornings are still cold so be sure to dress your little one in layers. I hate for them to be cold and they can always peel off some layers later on when it gets warmer.

These days we are learning some poetry. I keep trying to push spring in our poems hoping for the best but alas. Haha.

We have been trying to make words with -sp- in them during our word work time. The children do a wonderful job of spelling words even though they only have -sp- to start with.

We continue writing our All About books on our chosen animal. We are close to being finished. I would like to invite everyone to come see our All About books on April 30 at 1:30. You can then take your child with when you leave. I understand that people are working and may not be able to make it. Please let me know if you cannot and discuss with your child so they are not disappointed. They can still 'show off' a little with the other parents that are able to make it.

In math, we are working on subtraction strategies; just single digit up to 20. If you are working at home on it, remind them to count backwards or use some counters to help them, showing the total amount then taking away an amount.

Next Tuesday, we will be dismissing at 11:30 as teachers have meetings in the afternoon.
