Week in Review

We had a wonderful week together in kindergarten again.  This week we focused on continuing to build our friendships and solidifying our school routines and expectations.  We have talked a lot about expected and unexpected behaviours at school.  We also discussed our school code of "Good Hands, Good Feet and Good Words".

In literacy we worked on the letters and sounds for Tt and Ii and we had some fun with Rhyming.

In math, we continued to look at sorting groups of objects based on their attributes.  This unit will conclude next week and we will begin our study of patterns.

Have a wonderful weekend.  If you have any opportunities this weekend to ask your children to sort every day things at home such as cutlery, articles of clothing, markers, etc... please do so.  Also, see if your children can find any objects that begin with the sounds we have learned thus far this year (s, a, t, i)

Please remember to return the letter cards on the ring each day of the week as I will be adding to them each week.  Pradtice nightly at home with your child asking them what the letter name, sound and action is.  This is a very important pre-cursor to learning to read.
