​​In writing, the children will doing an independent piece that will follow them to grade 2 and I will also send home a copy so that you can see how far they have come since the beginning of the year.

In literacy we have been working on the song we will sing for the spring concert on Tuesday morning. I hope you will be able to make it. Doors open at 9:45 with everything starting at 10:00. We will be dismissing at 11:30 that day so you are welcome to take your children with you when you leave.

We will be working on the word family ING this week (i.e. words that end with ing)

In math, we have started a unit on measurement. Key words for this unit are taller, tallest, shorter, shortest, highest, lighter, lightest, heavier, heaviest. We are using non-standard units to measure (so not using cm or m).

On Thursday, we will be visiting York Care Center.
