Weekly What’s Up: September 17-21, 2018

What a lovely weekend we had.  I hope you were able to enjoy the weather and the festivities in town.

Grade 2 did a wonderful job spreading kindness last week for #BeccaToldMeTo.  We read several books about kindness and shared the kind acts that we were performing and seeing each day.

If you have not yet paid the supply fee or returned the information pages, please do so as soon as possible.

Happy Birthday to Brock who celebrated on Sunday.

Literacy:   I will be continuing with literacy assessments this week.  The class continues to amaze me with how quickly they have settled into our literacy routines.  Our All About Me bags allowed us to practice using presenting voices and asking questions vs making comments.

Math:  Last week we worked together to represent the number 9 in 13 different ways!  Representing numbers in different ways, aside from the digit, helps students deepen their understanding of numbers and will strengthen their addition and subtraction skills.  Each day we will work with a different number, based on our days of school count.  This week our numbers will be 10-14.
