Sorry I'm a little late posting this. The time got away from me.

This week we will be learning some new sight words and practicing them all week. her, his, not, of, on, stop, us​. Encourage your child to spell these words whenever they seem them in their reading or when you are reading, even stop signs!

In math we are working on numbers to 20. Recognizing them as soon as they see them, knowing what number comes next, starting at any point between 1 - 20 (eg. 3, 4, 5, etc. not just 1, 2, 3), then counting backwards from 20 - 1 (whew, that's even harder!) 

We are going on a field trip to Riverview Apple Orchard next week and permission slips go home today (Monday) and need to be back by Friday. There is a fee of $4 per child; our Home and School is generously covering the remainder of the cost. Please make sure you sign the form and return ASAP. This will be lots of fun! 

We have really settled into the routines of grade 1 here in our class and things are going well.
