MEMS Fall Fundraiser
This fall, our first fundraiser will be a community Spaghetti Supper. On Thursday,
October 20th, from 5:30-7pm, we will be offering an eat-in or take-out meal of spaghetti
with veggie or meat sauce with meatballs, garlic bread, and apple crisp. We would love to
have your support! Cost is $10 for adults, $6 for children under 6. A Sock Hop will be
held on October 5th where students can pay $2 or donate a box of spaghetti to participate.
Spaghetti collected will be used for our dinner.
MEMS Parent School Support Committee (PSSC)
Our first meeting was held on Monday, September 26
th, 2016, for parents/guardians interested in participating in the
MEMS Parent School Support Committee for 2016~2017. The committee members from the initial meeting include:
Karen Clark, Shannon Gibson, Jennifer Van Laren, Sarah Thompson, Yvette Foulkes, Shelley Caissie, Lindsay Glenn,
Tammy Best (Teacher Rep), and Kynda Bryant (Principal). Faith Kennedy will serve as our ASD-W District Education
Council representative. The next PSSC meeting will be held on Monday, October 24
th, 2016, at 6:30 pm in
Conference Room 205. Our meetings are scheduled for: October 24
th, November 28th, January 30th, February 27
th, and June 5
. We are in need of more parents interested in being an active part in their child’s
education. We would love to have 12 members by the end of the next meeting so plan to join us!
ASD-W Safe Schools Week
The NB Anglophone West Safe Schools Week is set to take place a little later this year, running from October 11th to
14th. During this week, the students will participate in numerous safety practices including a Fire Drill, Secure the
Building/Lockdown, Bus Evacuations and School Property/Safe Site Evacuation. Other safety activities planned for
various grade levels involve You and Your World and Health Education curriculum outcomes, as well as the review of
various safety rules/programs/activities. We will also have a presentation from our local EMT’s on October 11th
you to those EMT’s for volunteering their time to help keep our students safe.
