Welcome back to all our families!  We hope all had a great summer and we are excited to see everyone and get another great year underway at IVS!
 
Open House / PSSC Election – will take place on September 1st from 4:00pm – 5:30pm.  This is a great opportunity for you and your child to meet your teacher for the year, drop off school supplies and learn how you can get involved in our school through volunteering. This event consists of brief comments from Mr. Blucher in the gym followed by classroom visits.  If interested in serving on the PSSC (members serve for a three year term), you can find more information on our school website under the “Our Community” tab or by contacting the school principal. I have also attached an information sheet to this message. Please consider putting your name forward to serve on this important committee and let Mr. Blucher know prior to or at our Open House.  
 
Also, there will be IVS T-Shirts available to purchase for $10.00 for those interested as well as opportunities to sign up to support our school at major events (Christmas Parade/Float, Santa’s Workshop, June Fun Day, Hot Lunch distribution, etc…).  Please find our H and S Reps as we really need your support!  Also, Mrs. Lofstrom will be on hand selling her Peanut and Egg Free Cookbook for $12 or you can contact her by email at lori.lofstrom@nbed.nb.ca
 
ASD-S School Calendar – is attached for your reference.  Please refer to this to plan for days where there is no school for students (eg. professional learning days).  Those days are great days to proactively make appointments for your child to support regular school attendance.
 
 
Upcoming Dates: 
·         Thurs, September 1st 4:00pm – 5:30pm Open House
·         Tuesday, September 6th – First Day of School! New kindergarten parents, please note you would have received a letter indicating which day Sept 6th or 7th will be your child’s first day of school.  However, if you are not sure please call the school to verify.
·         Monday, September 11th – please return all required forms as well as submit our student fee ($20 per student of $50 per family).  You will receive a package of important information the first week of school and we ask you review this information careful and return all required information.
