Lynn White...our 'UNSUNG HERO'!!

Wow!  What a pleasure it is to be able to tell Saint John about Champlain Heights School’s UNSUNG HERO… Lynn White.

Lynn White is our WONDER WOMAN!  Without her, we would not have our hot lunch and milk program.  Every week, she orders, tallies, counts and rolls the money of almost 400 students. Often she can be seen in the office, with her calculator, and four or five kids surrounding her with bags of money and order forms!  She faithfully organizes the entire hot lunch program, dedicating hours to our school.  She also is an active member of our Home and School, organizing fundraising events and supporting all student and teacher extra-curricular adventures.  Staff and Parents are constantly commenting on the energy Lynn gives to our school community… It doesn’t matter what is happening here at the HEIGHTS, nothing can scare Lynn away.  She can be seen outside during a fire drill or running after teachers in the hall looking for the cash- she always has the program organized and running smoothly.

Lynn is affectionately known as ‘AUNT LYNN’ because she
does not have children at our school, but she is especially loved by her nieces and nephews (and their friends) who attend and have attended CHS.  She is committed to all children, and the family as a unit, and she recognizes that often parents do not have the time to volunteer at their child’s school.  Since her retirement, volunteering has become her full time job!

Once again- thanks AUNT LYNN for giving so much of your time and energy to our children- their health, nutrition, and spirit. We are blessed by your commitment…….

Drinking Water

All parents/guardians should now have received a letter from School District 8 outlining the specific measures being taken at our schools with respect to recent water fountain testing undertaken by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD). We would encourage you to read the letter below from Dr. Giffin, Public Health, and review the information on the EECD website, linked below, on the testing procedure which was used.
