Grad hoodies- Grade 8 classes are to sign the 2020 hoodie logo after the PE period this week so make sure you add your name. The cost is $35 and will only be available on Cashless Schools online.  We are only placing one order.  Don’t be disappointed.

Cross Country:   There is no cross country practice today. Baysides top runners are getting pumped up for tomorrow(wednesday) as it’s the finale for cross country. Good luck to our team as they compete in Regionals in Grandbay. Make sure you have your Bayside athletic shirt or soccer jersey for the Wednesday meet. 

 

 

Tim Horton card collectors- today students can meet in Mrs Arnolds class from 12:05-12:40 (tuesday), to trade cards. If you forgot your cards, there will be another gathering next tuesday- same time, same place.

A stunt has been chosen for Mr. Laskey and Mrs. McClure to perform once we reach our goal of $20,000.00. It will be revealed today at the assembly.

Girls soccer team   Very happy to report our girls beat River Valley 4-0 securing their spot as Regional Champions!! Goals for Riley Crowley, Maddie Fifield, Selena Simpson, and Abby Scott. The girls finished with an undefeated season with 5 wins (4 by shutouts), 1 tie, and 0 losses. 18 goals for and only 2 goals against. These girls are truly a team! Team motto....Together Everyone Achieves More!

Wednesday at lunch Mrs. Shannon’s class is sponsoring 3-on-3 ball hockey games in the gym during both halves of lunch for only $1/person. Teams will consist of three players and a goalie. Interested teams can sign-up outside Mrs. Shannon’s door (room 314) anytime today. Space is limited so don’t miss out! If you’re not a ball hockey player, that’s ok. You can pay $1 to come cheer on your friends! We hope to see you there.

Girls soccer team – the girls won again yesterday by defeating Sam de Cham 2-0. Goals scored by Abby Scott and Clancy McIntyre. Chloe Bastarache had the shutout in net. Final game is tomorrow against River Valley. Game time is 3:30 pm at Forest Hills Field. Please arrive by 3:30 pm. 

 

Athletic fees – all athletic fee should have been paid to the office or cashless schools last week. If fees are not paid by Tuesday Oct 8th, you will not be able to  play Wednesday or Thursday.   Girls fee is $25, boys is $15.

Mrs. Logues class will be hosting a crazy day on Wednesday. Want to be a rock star, how about a meme, maybe have some crazy hair,, it’s your choice! Want to include a friend? You can send them a crazy message that will be delivered to them. Get ready, get crazy on Wednesday!  

 

Students are invited to suggest a stunt for Mr. Laskey and Mrs. McClure as a reward for meeting our goal of $20,000.00. Place your name and idea on a piece of paper and drop it in the suggestion bucket in the office. 

 

 

ATHLETICS 

 

Ski & Snowboard Club - Once again Bayside will be offering a Ski & Snowboard Club. This activity is open to all Bayside students. It’s a fun economical way to learn to ski or snowboard – there is a fee but all transportation and lessons and gear are included in costs. There will be a meeting Friday October 4th for further information in the auditorium during the second half of lunch. If you have any questions before that please see Ms. Godreau McCarthy in room 309.

Second Half- Grade 6s and 7 FIs. 

 

Boys soccer      The boys ended in a 1-1 tie in a hard fought game against Millidgeville North School. Jayden Leeman scored the first goal and were able to hang on to the win for most of the game, however after an unfortunate hand ball in the box, keeper Kyle Matheson was faced with his first penalty shot. While he read the play correctly his arms just weren’t long enough to stop the shot. Our next game is a must win on Tuesday against Sam de Champ. There will be a practice on Monday to get us ready.  

 

Girls soccer team –  

 

Athletic fees for girls soccer is $25 and for boys $15. This needs to be paid to the office or on Cashless Schools by Thursday Oct 4th 

 

 

 

Cross Country:   

Our team competed at the Forest Hills Cross Country meet on Tuesday and the results are in. Highlights include: Clancy MacIntyre placed third, Julia Kiervin and Selena Simpson had 5th place finishes, Leah Coakley finished 8th and Taylor Smith finished 9th. For the boys, Granville Debly finished first, capturing his second title of the year, Isiah Ka,ara-Rogers finished second Cayden LeFrancois finished 4th, and Tyler Crowley and Willien Nelson had 5th place finishes. A very good showing all around from Bayside. Our next practice will be on Monday after school until 4:15

Don’t forget to bring back your permission slips so you can get a pledge sheet to raise money for the Children’s Wish Foundation. Every nickel counts and is put towards granting a wish!  

 

Mme. Ferrar’s class is selling raffle tickets to win a Cineplex movie pass (2 tickets, 2 drinks, and a popcorn) all week. For $1 you can win a prize pack worth over $40.  

 

Oct. 3rd:  Today, Mme. Griffin’s class will be hosting a vsco girl day. Cost is 1$ and all money goes toward Children’s Wish. Mr Robinson’s class is also sponsoring a “blanket and stuffie” day. For the cost of $1, dig out your favourite stuffy and blanket and bring them to class with you all day long. How comfy and cozy!  

 

 

 

Separate lunches got you down? Why not bring your lunch and bring a friend to Mme Hickey’s room Thursday and Friday (October 3rd and 4th).  For only $1 you can hang out with your friend who has an opposite lunch time from you. 

 

On Friday, October 4th, there will be a Jersey Day to support Children’s Wish. Mrs. Sabin’s class will be collecting $1 from anyone who wears a Jersey to school. Show your team colours while being a Wishmaker! 

 

On Monday October 7th Mme Legere’s Class will be hosting a hat day. Bring a dollar wear your hat.  

 

On Tuesday October 8th Mrs. Welch’s class will be hosting a Pajama Day!! Bring a dollar to wear your cozy Jammies! 

 

3D printed Bayside key chains will be available outside of the office every morning until our wish walk.  We’re asking for a $2 donation per key chain.

Our team competed at the Forest Hills Cross Country meet yesterday and had a very good showing. Results have not been emailed out yet so will be announced tomorrow. 

 

Those students who finished top 10 in the 12 minute run for Mr Shephard’s and Mr Bacon’s classes are HIGHLY encouraged to represent Bayside in the Regional Championship Oct 16 at River Valley. The boys are defending champs and girls were runner up. Please see Mr McCarthy for details.
