Positive Learning Environment Policy 703

The Positive Learning Environment Policy 703 is a tool designed to help school staff, students and parents build safe and peaceful environments where people feel accepted and respected and where learning is te focus.  It has come to our attention that there are some public misconceptions that are damaging to the positive learning environment.  One such myth is that disciplinary action can only be taken when behaviours take place at the school, during instructional hours.  The walk to and from school is included in our Positive Learning Environment, and students have a responsibility for their conduct during these times.

Policy 703 notes that the behaviour standards apply to all participants in the public school system on school property, on school buses and other school system-organized transportation, at school-sponsored events, whenever the school is responsile for the student, whenever the individual is acting on behalf of or is representing the school, and in all communications related to the school.
