​·        Westfield School Needs Technology! Teachers have sent home forms to see if anyone would like to order a Fresh Food Box.  These will be delivered to the school for pickup during parent teacher meetings.  It is a perfect time as you may be having an Easter Dinner that weekend.  For $30 you get 5 lbs. of potatoes, 5 lbs of carrots, 3 lbs of apples, 2 lobs of red onions, 2 lbs of beets, a medium cabbage and a medium turnip.  $9 from every box goes to the Westfield Tech Fund.

·        Hot lunch is due on the 20^th of each month!

·        Next week is French Pride Week in NB and we of course want to promote French in our school so we have a lot of activities going on.  Tuesday we will be having a French Station Day.  There will be stations like Learning about the Acadian Flag, Charades, French Colours, French Folk Dance and one on Maple Syrup.  Please note, at that last station, students will received a maple cookie.  If your child will not eat that or has a gluten sensitivity, please send a replacement in or let me know and I will make sure there is a replacement.  Thursday we will be asking people to dress in the colours of the Acadian Flag and we will participate in a Tintamarre.  (A loud parade outside around the school and parking lots).  We look forward to a fun week of French Learning!

·        Mme Green’s class is going to Rockwood Park on Wednesday of next week.  Please note that they will go regardless of the weather and please dress according to the conditions of the day.  This is thanks to PALS in the Park Program which is given to us as a result of the participation in the Soapbox Derby. 

·        Mrs. Kidney is starting to talk about the Heart and Stroke Foundation on this same day.  You might hear students talking about “Jump Rope for Heart “ and feel free to direct any questions to Mrs. Kidney.

·        Home and School meeting will take place on Tuesday at 6:30 and PSSC will start at 7:15. 

·        Report cards go home on the 26^th.  Please do not call the school to make appointments before the 26^th of the month between the hours of 8-3.  Parent Teacher takes place on the 28^th  in the evening and the 29^th afternoon.

·        Home and School is asking students to fill a 500ml pop bottle or water bottle with dimes and encouraging them to donate it to the new Inclusive Playground Addition.

·        Reminder that when you come into the school yard with a vehicle that you need to come into the driveway that is near the treeline and leads to the teacher parking lot out back.  This is particularly important in the morning when dropping off students. We are having parents coming in the wrong driveway even when children are in the yard.  I have asked for signs to be re-done and made bigger but this seems to be taking a while.  Please help the duty teachers as they are worried about the safety of the students, as am I.​
