Thisbusy week at AES! and Thank Yous!

Good evening AES families. Today is Monday, October 23rd.

Boy, do we have a busy week ahead of us!
Tonight we have our Kick Off to Kindergarten at 6:00. Parents of the K-class to come in the Fall will be treated to information about their child's development and events that will take place over the year to help prepare their child for school next year. Our numbers are down a bit - are there any others out there that have not been in to see us as yet?
Tomorrow evening PSSC members are encouraged to join me at the DEC Training evening in Hampton.
Wednesday is the October 1/2-day. Students will be dismissed at 11:00 for home. Staff will be learning more about preparing the new Provincial report cards that are only a few weeks away.
Thursday is Picture Retake Day. If you want your child to have retakes, you should have indicated so by returning the portion of the photo envelope to the school. These students along with those that missed the first photo day will be the only ones to be called down to the photographer.
And Friday the Pumpkin Man will be here. Every year the Reickers have arrived with a truckload of pumpkins for each child to choose one to bring home. Pumpkins are $1.00 each. Please send your money in as we do not want disappointed children.
Also, I would like to take this opportunity to thank many of you for your support this past week. Thank you to the Home & School mothers who came to work on our playground last Monday (Great timing btw!); thank you to all the parents, students, and siblings who made our Environmental Science Night such a success (over 100 people participated and $160 was raised through our bottle drive!); and also a thank you to the Home & School parents who supported our kids with bagging groceries at Sobeys on Sunday ($611 was raised during this time!)
Well, have a great evening everyone and a good week ahead!
