Important items for School Start up from RES

Good day,
This is Charlene Carroll, principal of Rothesay Elementary calling with a few important September items for our RES families.
On Wednesday, September 2nd at 6:30 pm we will have an Open House/ Meet the Teacher Night for all parents and students. This is an opportunity for you to meet your child's teacher to discuss curriculum and classroom expectations. It is also a time for students to bring in their school supplies if they wish to do so, in order for them to not have so many items to bring to school on the first day.
Teachers will have a power point presentation for you discussing some of the routines and procedures at RES and in the classroom that will also give information with respect to the district “Attendance Matters” initiative. You can find out more about this important initiative on the district website at http://web1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/ASD-S/Pages/Attendance-Matters.aspx
We will also have PSSC Elections that evening at 7:30 in the conference room next to the computer room for anyone who is interested in being on our Parent School Support Committee. The PSSC is an excellent opportunity for you to become involved in helping improve our school. You would be involved in advising the Principal on education and policy issues, working with the Principal to develop and monitor the School Improvement Plan and reviewing the School Report Card results. If you are interested in being on the PSSC please contact Mrs. Carroll at the school during the week of August 31st at 847 6203.
This message was sent by e-mail to all parents today and a parent handbook was attached to that e-mail. Please review the Parent Handbook and we ask you to pay special attention to the Attendance Policy section that is new to our school.
If you did not receive the e-mail you can view the handbook on our school website http://web1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/ASD-S/1927/Pages/default.aspx under parent resources.
We were informed by transportation that bus runs for the KV Valley have been changed and the bus your child took last year to and from school may not be the same bus. Please confirm your child’s transportation to and from school before next Tuesday by going to the following link and enter the information needed to tell you what bus to take and where the stop is located. Hew reis the district link http://routes.nbed.nb.ca/elinkrpASDS/Students/BasicTransBoundarySearch.aspx

Thank you and we look forward to meeting you and your children on Wednesday evening at our open house!
Yours in education- Charlene Carroll
