·         Thank you Red Hawks for all the food you brought in!  The Allergy Friendly Food Drive continues, where we will be asking for food items containing no SESAME.  Thank you.

·         There will be a quick meeting of all SQUASH PLAYERS TODAY in Mr. McKay’s room at break. Submitted by:  Chip Smith, student

 

·         Congratulations to the Varsity Girls’ Basketball team who went undefeated this weekend and won their tournament in Fundy.  Submitted by:  Erin Connolly, student

 

·         The JV boys’ basketball team won their home tournament by beating Carlton North High School 78-64 in the finals.  Submitted by:  Mr. Jordan, teacher

 

·         The JV boys’ basketball team had a 69-50 win over Fundy last Wednesday evening.  Top 3 scores were:  Ates Ergil with 18, Dylan Young with 14 and Austin Forrest with 13.  Submitted by:  Mr. Jordan, teacher

 

·         Tomorrow will be the JV Boys’ Basketball group photo during homeroom.  Please come to the lobby in your uniform Tuesday.  Submitted by:  Caroline Stephen, student

 

·         There will be a quick meeting at lunch today for all interested in a project for the SPCA in Mr. Cook’s room.  Be there!  Submitted by:  Annie Cormier

 

·         Library is closed to students today.

 

·         Sign up sheets for the musical are up on the performing arts bulletin board outside of Mrs. Poirier’s room.  Make sure to sign up!  Also, there is a dance learning session for boys in the cafeteria at the start of lunch.  Submitted by:  Katie Hanson, student

 

·         Musical auditions start today!  Audition forms are now available in the music room.  Auditions will take place in the learning commons.  An extra noon-hour on Thursday will be posted today for those who didn’t get a time slot.  Submitted by:  Mrs. Shea, teacher

 

·         Hey Redhawks!  It’s that time of year again!  Our snow day predictor challenge will be starting on December 1st and you can come down to the student lounge every day at break this week and pay $2 to bet on what day will be the first snow day.  Submitted by:  Katie Hanson

 

·         Attention Grads:  We will be collecting grad baby photos on Wednesday during homeroom.  This will be the only day!  You can also email your photo to rhsbabypics2017@gmail.com before Wednesday November 30th.  Submitted by:  Caroline Stephen

 

·         November 25 – December 10 is 16 days of Orange the World, raising awareness for gender-based violence including domestic abuse, rape and child marriage.  Monday’s fact:  approximately every 6 days a woman in Canada is killed by her intimate partner.  Out of 83 police reported intimate partner homicides in 2015, over 80% were women.  There will be a bake sale on December 6 to raise money for Christmas Shoeboxes for homeless shelters!

·         NSCAD University, AKA the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax will be visiting RHS on Dec 1st. They will be offering 2 information sessions, one in period 2 and one in period 3 the art room. If you are in grade 11 or 12 and are not in art this semester, you are still able to attend one of these sessions. Please see Ms. Wilson by Mon Nov 28 to register and get permission from your period 2 or period 3 teacher. In the session, you will learn more about NSCAD and the variety of art-related careers this university can prepare you for.
