This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School.
LOOKING FOR DONATIONS: Grade 2 French Immersion classes are looking for donations of plastic play food items. Our Resource teacher is also looking for play cars and a car play mat.
There is no school for students on Monday due to Thanksgiving. The rest of the week is full of various events including the start of our Skating Block. Students must have skates, a properly fitted helmet, and something to wear on their hands for protection. Snow pants are also highly recommended.
Kindergarten Registration for the 2019-2020 school year will take place next week at Dr. A.T. Leatherbarrow, October 9-12, 2018.
Fire Safety: This week is recognized as Fire Safety Week in NB and we will have a special discussion on Wednesday to talk about this year’s theme with our students “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere.” https://www2.gnb.ca/content/dam/gnb/Departments/ps-sp/pdf/Safety_Protection/gazette/GazetteE.pdf On Friday we will also practice another fire drill as well as our Off Site Emergency Evacuation where we walk to Hampton Middle School.
Thank you to everyone who voted for us in the Aviva Community Fund. We think we have secured a 7th place finish which would mean we will receive at least $15, 000. The top 10 projects now go to the judging round where one project will win $100, 000.
Cross Country Fun continues with two more runs remaining at the Qplex Oct. 10th and Oct. 17th.
3Leblanc is welcoming CBC Trash Trackers on Thursday who will be doing a garbage audit from a day at school and seeing if we can improve our recycling practices. Currently we compost and recycle plastics, metal, milk cartons, cardboard and paper. We also collect and return juice boxes and other refundables.
Home and School will have their monthly meeting on Thursday, October 11th at 6:30PM in the school library. All are welcome to attend! They will be sending home forms for an after school Movie Night which will take place October 18th. Forms and payment are due by Tuesday, October 16th.
Thank you to parents for reporting student absences with the new SafeArrival program. A reminder that there are three methods for doing so: SchoolMessenger App, Safe Arrival website https://go.schoolmessenger.ca or the toll-free number 1-833-219-9065. You can read more here: https://secure1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/ASD-S/Pages/Safe-Arrival.aspx .
