This is a message from Mrs. Blanchard, Principal at Hampton Elementary School.
We had a busy first week of school and it was wonderful to meet all our new students! Our students are settled in with their teachers, meeting lots of new friends and learning our school expectations and routines. We had our first fire drill practice on Thursday and the students and staff did a wonderful job exiting the school quickly and quietly. Over the next couple weeks we will continue to practice our safety protocols.
If you have not yet returned your child’s information form, please do so as soon as possible. Also, if your child has medical needs, we need the updated medical plan immediately. If your child has a new medical condition or concern, please drop in to complete the appropriate medical forms (“Extreme Allergy Management and Emergency Plan”, “Essential Routine Services and Emergency Plan”).
A public health nurse will be coming next week to receive all updated immunization records. Many families received letters in June with information regarding missing immunizations and were asked to provide proof of immunization to the school. Please ensure we have all up to date information.
Stay tuned for our first school newsletter that will be going out on Monday. Hard copies will be available for this first edition but are only sent home if they are requested for the remainder of the year. We rely on sending information via an email address so please ensure your address is up to date on the student information forms. We also have an up to date website!
Morning Supervision begins at 7:50. Please ensure your child is not dropped off before this time and students should come out of the school side of the car. Please remember that the lane directly in front of the school is reserved for bus traffic. Please STOP if you see flashing red lights! Open gym begins on Monday for Grade 5 students (7:50-8:15am), Grade 4 on Wednesday, and Grade 2 & 3 on Friday.
Our school fee for the 2019-2020 school year is $60. Please pay online at https://asd-s.schoolcashonline.com/ To date we have 179 out of 303 paid student fees.
We are looking for immediate volunteers to act as our Recycling Champion Team – this would require visiting the school on a daily basis to pick up plastic, paper and metal and cardboard and bringing them to the blue bins. Students pre-sort this material so it is just a matter of transporting it to the bins. You can choose a day that works for you and pick up time can be from 3-10p.m. Email sarah.blanchard@nbed.nb.ca to get involved.
Milk Orders are now available online. You may find these listed at https://asd-s.schoolcashonline.com/ All orders are due by Thursday, September 12th, 2019.
Student Picture Day is Friday, September 20th! Harvey Studios will be here taking classes for their individual photos.
Cross Country for all Grades 3-5 students who have returned their permission slips begins Wednesday at the H.E.S. Field. Supervision is the responsibility of the parent and you should be at the school by 2:40 p.m. All students will wait in the gym until a parent arrives. Parents may enter through the gym side door to retrieve their child. Please sign your child out with Mme. Schofield who has volunteered her time.
Home and School Meeting – Our first Home and School meeting of the year is Tuesday, September 10th at 6:30PM in the school library. This is always a fun social time where we talk about the exciting ways we can enrich our students’ school experience.
A reminder to subscribe to the Bus Planner Parent Portal to receive notifications specific to your child’s bus service. The direct link to this service is https://bp.nbed.nb.ca/asds In order to set up “My Children”, you will require your child’s student ID number, which is available from your child’s teacher or from Mrs. Robichaud by calling the school
