Principal’s Message
The vision statement for Campobello Island Consolidated School is “Cultivating the Future”. What does that mean for each and every one of us?
For the Elementary students, it means that they are growing physically, mentally, and emotionally every day through learning how to read, write, and think about the world around them. It means that they are learning about each other, and how to treat each other with respect and empathy. It means that they are preparing their minds to be ready for the rigours of Middle School.
For the Middle School students, it means that they are immersed in learning more about the world around them, and how they fit into that world. It means that they are learning that the skills that they learn here at CICS will have a direct effect on their futures, and the futures of the people around them. It means that they are learning how their actions can affect themselves, their friends, their families, and the world.
For the High School students, it means that they are preparing themselves for the world of work or higher education. It means that they are thinking seriously about their futures, and what they can do to make the world a better place. It means that they are working hard to achieve their goals, and help their classmates achieve theirs.
Daisaku Ikeda said that education”… must foster people who intuitively understand and know—in their mind, in their heart, with their entire being—the irreplaceable value of human beings and the natural world.” Cultivating the future means that we at CICS – students and staff alike – are working together every day to improve our world through education.
