Congratulations to the QMS Chess Team on their dominant performance at the district chess tournament this past weekend. It was a clean sweep for the grade eights, with John K. claiming first place, Jason C. clenching second, and John J. earning third. For the sevens, Harrison W. finished in second place. All four students have now qualified for the provincial chess tournament later in the year. Great job, cougars!

Sports News:
• Mr. Long's PE classes will be going snowshoeing this week, please come dressed for the weather.

• The varsity girls and JV girls volleyball teams practice from 3:00-4:30 today and Wednesday.

• The JV boys volleyball team practices from 4:30 -6:00 pm today

Wednesday will be “Twin Day” and all participants are asked to bring in $1.00 to their homeroom teachers.  All proceeds go to the “We Create Change Campaign”.

Teachers:  FYI, the Book Fair flyers are now in your box(s) to pass out to your students.

Speaking of Book Fair:   Our school-wide book fair starts Wednesday in the Library.  Please check out our bulletin board in the Cafeteria for some Great Book ideas.

A change in the outdoor routine at lunch… with the tall snowbanks and the reduced visibility in the yard outside, we are asking that students not go to the far end of the building outside the Art Room window. Please remain visible in the front areas of the school. Also, snow is to remain on the ground - no throwing of snowballs, kicking snow at others or other pushing people into the snowbanks.
