​This week, students will work on speaking situations within a Parliamentary debate structure. 

Students will: 

Monday 

• Choose topics, and be designated partners as well as matchups
  
• Understand their acheivment expectations during the debate Class Debate.docx

Tuesday 

• Understand that arguments come in two parts: a warrant and a claim 
  
• Understand that refuting another's argument for an audience involves summarizing that position before clashing with it. 
• Practice the above skills 

Wednesday 

• attend a play in period 1. 
  
• Complete a practice round of debate ​

Thursday 

• Understand that rebuilding a partner's argument that was torn down by an opponent involves summarizing both positions for an audience. 
  
• Work on next week's debate 

Friday 

• ​Spend a final day preparing for next week's debate
