Holiday Traditions project!

Holiday Traditions Project

What are your holiday traditions?

Everyone has a big holiday, whether it is Christmas, Eid, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Chinese New Year or whatever you celebrate. I want you to tell me all about your traditions when you have your big celebration. Do you have lots of family and a big dinner with lots of presents? Perhaps it’s a small get-together. Tell me all about it.

1.     There should be a written portion, explaining what your celebration is, what kinds of things you do to celebrate, where it is celebrated. Your writing should have complete sentences, uppercase letters where they are supposed to be and, of course, ending punctuation.

2.    Include some pictures in your report to show your traditions. They can be pictures from the internet or your own pictures from home.

3.    Your project should also have a product. Some examples of a product would be a poster, a diorama, maybe it’s a recipe of something special you eat at this time (just make sure there are no nuts if you bring it in to share), a video. Be creative!

4.    You will present your project to the class the last week of school so make sure to practice what you are going to say.

You will have some class time to do your project but you will need to talk with your parents as well to help you with your traditions.

This project is due Monday, December 19, 2016.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with for your projects!

I have told the children that they will be working on this for the next couple of weeks. Please talk to your children about your traditions to help them out with their project. I think they are excited about it.
