Nature Walk and Leaf Math

This week the students were learning about Autumn. We went on a nature walk around the school property and looked for signs of the new season. When we went outside, five geese flew over the playground, practicing their flying formation. We saw sunflowers getting ready to bloom in the garden the K students planted last year. ​We collected leaves, found helicopter seeds and burdocks. We worked in groups and sorted our leaves. We made three graphs - leaf size, color and shape.
