Week at a Glance Oct 15-18

It has been another great week at MAS. This week we received a cheque from the Nashwaaksis Y’s Men club for funding towards our Gaga Pit and Breakfast program. This was greatly appreciated. We would like to say “Congratulations” to our Cross Country Runners! They have worked very hard this season and did a wonderful job at the final race. We are very proud of you here at MAS and you should be very proud of yourselves.

A few reminders:

Thanksgiving- No School on Monday.

School Pictures- Orders were due on Thursday, October 10th. Retakes will be held Wednesday, October 16th.  Order forms for Retakes are asked to be returned also.  *A note regarding retakes; If a student has their photo retaken, their original photo becomes no longer available as an option.

Breakfast Program- Breakfast program is on Tuesday, October 8th. This week students will be having cereal and smoothies. All students are welcome. When they arrive on the playground they come right inside the grade 2-5 door and come downstairs to the gymnasium to enjoy breakfast with friends. If arriving close to bell students will take the breakfast back to classroom.

Kindergarten Registration- Attention parents of the class of 2033! If your child will be five years old on or before December 31, 2020, its time to register for Kindergarten! Kindergarten registration for the 2020-2021 school year is happening this week Oct. 15-18 at all elementary schools in ASDW. To register your child please visit the link to get started- http://web1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/asd-w/Pages/default.aspx, and click on PreRegistration under Quick Links, then stop by the school to complete your registration this week. Please bring with you the following 3 documents that are required for registration:  Proof of age (birth certificate, baptismal certificate or passport); Medicare Card; and Proof of immunization. If you do not have access to internet or a computer we will have one available at the school to help out. We look forward to seeing you. For more information visit:

Santa’s Little Helper- This past week your child brought home our Santa’s Little Helper Fundraising Magazine. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and we thank all our families for making this successful. Reminder we only have two short weeks to get out and raise money. Students are not permitted to go door to door to sell. Please ask family and friends. Please send in order forms and money, no later than October 23.

FIN Kids- On October 24th our students will be attending FIN Kids at the Cineplex. This is a wonderful enrichment opportunity to see short films created by youth. Students brought home information sheets on Thursday with an order form for popcorn. Please have orders in by October 18th.

Support-A-Thon- Some may have noticed that we have added a Support-A-Thon to our schoolcashonline. Parents had been inquiring on how they can support the students in our school financially. If this is something you would like to consider, please visit schoolcashonline.
