a child who will turn five between now and December 31, it's time to register
Starting school is an important time in a child's life. To ease the transition
from home or preschool, parents are encouraged to register their children for
kindergarten in October of the year prior to when they begin school. This
allows teachers, principals and school district staff time to organize several
opportunities to meet with parents and children before school begins the

will start kindergarten in September 2018.
To register your child, visit your neighbourhood elementary school.
It is not necessary to make an appointment. If you are uncertain of which
school your child would attend, enter your home location into the Transportation
Newcomer Kindergarten Registration in the Greater Fredericton Area
newcomer children who were not born in Canada, or who were born in Canada, but
English is not the language spoken at home, are invited to register for
kindergarten at the Newcomer Support Centre - located at 575
George Street (please use the Regent Street entrance).
For all-newcomer registrations,
please bring the following documentation with you:
- Birth Certificate
- Legal status in Canada (i.e.
Canadian Citizenship, Confirmation of Permanent Residency, Work Permit,
Study Permit) - both the parents' and the child's
- Immunization records
(translated into English)
- Proof of permanent address in
Canada (e.g., a lease, driver's license, or utility bill)
