Welcome to River Valley Middle School 2016-2017!

Hello! Today is Friday, September 2nd and this is Ms. McGrath calling from River Valley Middle School with a message for all of our Raider families.
As you know school begins next week. Our Gr. 6 students begin on Tuesday, September 6th and the Gr. 7 & 8 students join them on Wednesday, September 7th. We will begin full cafeteria service on Wednesday so the Gr. 6 students should plan to bring their lunch with them on the first day.
Our Open House & Meet the Teacher evening is scheduled for Wednesday as well. We meet in the Theatre at 6:00 pm.
We have a few openings on our PSSC committee, if you are interested, please contact me at the school or speak with me on Wednesday evening. I have included an electronic brochure which explains the role of our PSSC and current members will also be available on Wednesday evening here at the school.
A copy of our suggested school supply list is on our website and attached to the e-mail version of this message as well.
If you need to look up your child’s bus information, please go to the webpage for Anglophone South School District (just google ASDS and it should be the first item on the list).  At the top click on the tab for “busing” and the “find bus route” in the dropdown menu. Enter your grade and address info. Your postal code will need capital letters and no spaces.
I would suggest always putting your child on the bus the first week of school. This helps us confirm bus routes and lets the driver get familiar with your child. Driving your child back and forth for the first few days can actually make it harder for us to determine that we have accurate bus information for them. If you are concerned, put them on the bus and then follow the bus to RVMS to ensure their safe arrival.
There will be lots of information coming home the first few days of school and I will be posting information on the website as well. Please review this information with your child and send us any updates to your contact information as soon as possible. The main line for the school is 738-6500.
I am very excited to see you all again next week! I hope all of our Raider families get a chance to enjoy this last beautiful weekend of summer.
