Hello! Today is Wednesday, November 16th and this is Ms. McGrath calling with the weekly announcements for Raiders and their families.
Our first set of Report Cards are scheduled to go home with students on Monday, November 21st. Parent/Teacher meetings are scheduled for Thursday, November 24th from 5-8 pm and Friday, November 25th from 1-3 pm.
We suggest reviewing the Report Card with your child. You may find that page 12 & 13 of the agenda provide a good outline for this discussion.
If you have concerns or questions we encourage you to attend Parent/Teacher meetings. We will begin taking appointment requests this Friday, November 18th. You can make an appointment any time after 8:15 on Friday morning by calling 738-6500.
We also recognize that families are very, very busy. If you do not have any immediate concerns or questions regarding your child’s academic progress, you may choose not to attend or to contact teachers by e-mail or phone in lieu of an appointment. Please feel free to select this option.
Also, as we do have Parent/Teacher and Teacher PD, there is no school for students next Friday, November 25th.
Onward to student activities and events:
1. We have a massive Lost & Found collection. This will be on display next week for both students and parents and will then be donated to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation. Please check this out while you are here at the school for P/T or remind your child to look for lost items (reminders will also be on the daily announcements all next week)
2. We continue our Theme Fridays this week with a Music/Rock Star Theme sponsored by the Purple Pioneers Team. Students may come dressed as their favourite Musician, Rock Star or Instrument. A list of our Friday theme days is attached to the e-mail version of this message and is posted on the school website.
3. We have been in touch with McCluskey Brothers and are hoping to have them set up for P/T with school clothing items for purchase. I will attach an order form to this message next week and forms will also be available in the office.
4. Our Pizza Dough business starts up once again this Friday, November 18th. Dough will be available on Mondays and Fridays for the rest of the school year. Orders must be placed in the morning in the Tech Lab and students can pick up their order as they exit the building at the end of the day.
The dough is all made from scratch here at the school and is the same dough we use for the Gr. 8 Pizza on Fridays. Cost is 5$. You may order Pizza Dough (enough for 2 x 12 inch pizzas) or dough to make dinner rolls (enough dough to make 45-60 rolls)
