Weekly Messages, September 5, 2018

Hello! This is Ms. McGrath calling with a message for all Raiders and their families.

We had a great first day of school for Grade 6 today and look forward to greeting our returning Grade 7 & 8 students tomorrow, Wednesday, September 5th.
I apologize if some of this information gets repeated over the next few weeks but there is so much to tell you and I don’t want families to miss anything important.
Our school day begins at 8:40 and runs until 3:10. Please ensure your children are available during that time. Although some students may have the privilege to leave early during ASAP, this is not always possible and we ask parents to make sure their children can stay until 3:10 if required as that is when school finishes for the day.
Students should not be on school property, or at the rink, before 7:55 each morning as there are no staff on duty until that time.
A few other items:
1. Students will arrive home with an information sheet. Please make any necessary changes to your contact information and return to the school.  It would also be helpful to notify us of any new phone numbers if they change during the school year.
2. Chef Frank is at RVMS this week but with a reduced menu. He will have items for sale tomorrow, Wednesday and on Friday but he will not be in the building on Thursday this week at all. Regular daily cafeteria service will resume next week, Monday, September 10.
3. Our student fee this year is $35. This fee covers the cost of the agenda, at least one school trip for each student and all most other activities throughout the year. WE do not fundraise at RVMS so this fee is important. You can send in money to your child’s homeroom teacher or pay online. Go to rvms.nbed.nb.ca and click on “Make a Payment”. This will take you to the new “Cashless Schools” payment site. There is a transaction fee so the payment online is $37.
4. Buses continue to be a challenge. All busing is organized by the school district. We do our best to ensure student bus information is accurate but we cannot make changes to buses. The only information we have is the same information you can access on the district website. Please direct any bus questions to the district office.
That is all for this evening. These messages are always posted on our website at rvms.nbed.nb.ca.
Please feel free to contact me with any important questions or concerns at Trudy.McGrath@nbed.nb.ca or, on my direct line, 738-6511. General information questions should be made at the main office at 738-6500.
Thank you! See you in the morning!
