Hello! Today is Monday, September 22nd and this is Ms. McGrath calling with your weekly announcements.
First of all, I would like to invite all interested families to our Open House and PSSC elections scheduled this Thursday evening from 6-8 pm. This is a chance for you to get involved in our school’s Parent School Support Committee and also a chance to tour the school and meet your child’s team of teachers. Students are encouraged to attend with their parents or guardians. We will meet in the Theatre for 6:00 pm. Teacher teams will be available to meet upstairs at 6:30.
At this event, we will also have some information on our Cafeteria service, provided by Chef Frank Horvat and we will have school clothing available to order. We will also have the clothing available for ordering at Parent Teacher in November. I have attached a copy of the order form to the e-mail for this message.
We will also be selling RVMS window clings to support student activities at the school. This is really the only fundraiser we will do for the school this year. Window clings are $5 each and are non-adhesive so will not damage any service. Get your RVR Window cling and show off that you are a Proud Raider Parent!
I have a few other reminders for students and families as well:
1.       ASD-S is now a peanut/nut free and scent free environment. Please keep this in mind when sending items to school with your child.
2.       No child should have any medication at school. This includes over the counter items like Tylenol & Advil. If your child needs access to these items, we have a protocol to follow. Please contact me or Mrs. Sawyer to set this up.
3.       We love the fact that so many of our students are bringing bikes and skateboards to school but they absolutely must have a helmet. We will not allow these items on property if students do not arrive with a helmet.
4.       Finally, we continue to have a few cases of head lice show up each week. Please continue check your child’s hair frequently for the next few weeks and use a treatment and remove all nits if you find evidence of Head Lice.
