Hello! Today is Tuesday, October 14th and this is Ms. McGrath calling with a few announcements for Raiders and their families.
 
Our students raised approximately $430 towards the Terry Fox Cancer Research intiative. Thank you all verry much for your support. We feel that these  fundraisers are important activities that allow our students to develop a strong sense of citizenship and community involvement.
 
We have had several inquiries regarding community hockey. I would like to advise parents that this hockey program is not affiliated with RVMS in any way. We do not have information regarding practices, teams or schedules and would request that parents direct their inquiries to the community hockey organizers and not to the school. We have had a few parents upset that, when they called the school, we could not give more information about practice times etc. but this is no different than community basketball or baseball and is not the responsibility of the school.
 
We would like to remind students and their families that leaving school at the early bell is a privilege and that there will be days when students are expected to stay until the 3:10 bell which is the actual end of the school day.
 
We also want to remind families that teachers will not create or supply work packets for your child if you choose to take them out of school for a family event or vacation. Students can catch up on missed work when they return and may use their after school time to do this. Teachers are certainly available after school for extra homework help or support.
