Weekly Announcements, March 26th, 2018

Hello! Today is Monday, March 26th.
It is Report Card day at RVMS! Take a look in those backpacks for a Report Card for your child.
I have once again attached a copy of the new grading rubric to the e-mail version of this message. Remember that we want to see “3’s” on this Report Card. A mark of 4 indicates that your child is moving beyond their grade level expectations and a mark of “2” indicates they are still struggling to perform at grade level. A mark of one is serious and indicates you should speak with your child’s teachers.
Please take the time to review the Report Card with your child and complete and return the last page as soon as possible.
Parent/Teacher meetings are scheduled for this Wednesday evening from 5-8 pm and on Thursday afternoon from 1-3 pm. You can call the school office at 738-6500 to arrange an appointment with your child’s team of teachers.
You will notice that your child does not have a mark for Technology or for Art. We will be sending those marks home next week and Mr. Vincent will be available to discuss marks at that time. Mr. Vincent will not be available for regular Parent/Teacher meetings this week. If you would like to meet with him, please let the office know and we will have him contact you when he returns.
Because of Parent/Teacher and the Easter weekend our students are headed into a 5 day break. There is no school for students this Thursday and Friday and Easter Monday is a school holiday as well.
I do want to let families know that we have had to deal with several students bringing items to school that are not allowed. Minor children, and all of our students are minors, cannot be in possession of vapes or cigarettes or alcohol and they cannot have any medication at school with the exception of epi-pens and insulin.
As well, pocketknives, toy weapons, lighters and matches are not allowed at school.
I know this seems pretty evident to most of you, but somehow, our students seem to forget and bring these items to the building. Please remind your child that these items are prohibited.Grade Scale for Parents - November.docxGrade Scale for Parents - November.docx
I encourage all of our Raider families to take time to play together this weekend.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school if you have any questions or concerns. I can be reached at trudy.mcgrath@nbed.nb.ca and, on my direct line, at 738-6500.
Thank you and good evening.
