Reunions

The classes of 1972, 1977, and 2007 had very successful reunions in the summer of 2017.

Class of 1987 - The Class of 1987 will celebrate their 30-year reunion on September 16, 2017 at the home of Janelle (Bennett) Arseneault from noon until 3PM at 49 Lighthouse Road in St. Martins.  Those attending are asked to bring a favourite appetizer.  The reunion will continue from 8PM on that same day at Picaroons in Saint John.  For more information please visit their alumni face book page: Simonds High School Class of 1987

Class of 1978 - A 40-Year reunion is being planned in 2018 for those members of the Class of 1978.  For further details, grads should join the Simonds High School Class of 1978  face book page.

NOTE: - The Class of 2008 is already making plans for their 10-yr reunion for 2018.  If you can assist, please contact Nick White on face book .

Also, the Class of 1968 is in the early stages of preparation for their 50th High School Reunion. A tentative date of June 16, 2018 has been set, so grads can “Save the Date”. A venue has not yet been determined. Anyone interested in serving on the organizing committee please contact Beth (Thomas) Roy at bethroyiam@gmail.com.  A meeting will be held in the fall. Please spread the word to all  fellow graduates. Stay tuned for further details.

If any other classes are planning reunions, could they please send details and dates to Judy Chapman at chapmanb@nbnet.nb.ca or Tammy Kilpatrick at kilpatrick.tammy@sourceatlantic.ca , or post or send us a message on our alumni face book page.  It is always good to get information out early so grads can book their vacations and make plans to attend.

Yearbooks for Alumni

Looking for a great gift for a friend or family member for a birthday or early Christmas gift? The Simonds Alumni committee has new yearbooks to sell. We have books from almost a variety of years (only a few years sold out).  The yearbooks are being sold for $35 (no tax) each! So, if you did not get or misplaced your own yearbooks, or wish to surprise someone with a great gift of memories, please contact Judy Chapman at chapmanb@nbnet.nb.ca or any other member of the alumni committee.

Simonds Memorial Grove

Over several years Simonds has planted trees in memory of several teachers and students who have passed away. Recently, the Simonds Alumni decided to partner with the school Environmental Club and a couple of local businesses to plan some improvements to the school grounds. This initiative will take place over a couple of years. As part of this plan, we are hoping to have some more trees donated and planted in our memorial grove. We are seeking individuals or grad-class years who wish to donate a tree in memory of one or more individuals. We invite classes who are planning reunions for this or upcoming years to please consider placing a memorial tree in memory of several deceased members of your class. What a beautiful way in which to remember a classmate / friend / family member! The approximate cost of a tree is $150. Other plans to improve the school grounds include an improved "landscaped" area with flowers and benches in front of C building, improvements to current benches, increased tree wind-block around the sports field & more. Please message or email (chapmanb@nbnet.nb.ca) me or any other member of the Simonds alumni committee if you or your class / group would like to donate a memorial tree or if you would like to a part of this worthwhile initiative to give back to your school. Thank you for your assistance with this worthwhile project.
