Principal's Message ~ Friday, September 8th, 2017

Forest Hills School

We Build Inclusion, Capacity, and Learning Communities

September 8th, 2017

This is a message from Mrs. Savoie, principal at Forest Hills School.

It’s hard to believe we have the first week under our belts.  Please be sure to keep in touch with your children’s teachers over the year regarding their progress. Also, please never hesitate to contact the school.

Reminder to gr. 3-5 students that our cross country meet is Thursday, September 14th.  Any student interested in running must return their permission slip to Miss Parsons by Tuesday at the latest.  Parents are asked to respect parking rules at Rockwood Park and not park on the road as we don't want to block access for emergency vehicles.  Thank you for your cooperation.  Carpooling is suggested if possible.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience with bussing this week. We are hopeful that most of the bugs have been worked out and that next week will run more smoothly.  Please make sure you log on to the new system for phone alerts and bussing information specific to your children.

We are looking for volunteers for our breakfast program, breakfast bins, hot lunch program, and in other areas of the school.  If you or a family member are able to help at the school, please let us know as soon as possible.  We would be unable to provide all of the extra student services we do without the support of our volunteers.  Thank you!

Please make sure that you fill out and return information sheets, student contact forms, medical plans, or any other forms that were sent home this week, as soon as possible.  Also, we’d appreciate several different contact numbers and an email address.

If you are wondering why our flags are at half-mast, commencing this year, there will be a new annual half-masting to recognize the Firefighters’ National Memorial Day. This new half-masting will take place on the second Sunday in September.

Remember Falcons, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe!

Have a nice weekend,

Melissa Savoie
