Principal's Message ~ Friday, November 10th, 2017

Forest Hills School

We Build Inclusion, Capacity, and Learning Communities

November 10th, 2017

This is a message from Mrs. Savoie, principal at Forest Hills School.

There will be no school on Monday in honour of Remembrance Day.  We held our school ceremony today at 11.  We would encourage families to attend a local ceremony on Saturday the 11th to honour our veterans.  Our Hillsong choir will be singing O’Canada and we will be laying a wreath at the Jarvis Bay Cenotaph.  We hope that you can join us.

There will be a French Immersion information night for grade 1, 3, and 6 entry (for next year) at Barnhill Memorial School on Wednesday, November 15th at 6:30.  If you are considering the French Immersion program for your child, you may wish to attend.

We will be having a Scholastic Book Fair from November 19th-24th.  We are looking for volunteers to set up and to run it, so if you are able to help out please let us know.

Report Cards will be going home on Monday the 20th with parent teacher on the 23rd from 4-7 and the 24th 1-3.  There will be no school for students on Friday the 24th.

It’s that time of year again to beginning working on our annual Christmas Families project.  We will not be having a silent auction this year, but will have 50/50 for sale at parent teacher and at the Hillsong performance.  There will also be raffle tickets for sale for 2 Christmas baskets.  We will also be having our annual flea market on December 7th and 8th.  We would ask that you start sending in gently used or new items (toys, books, movies, household, etc.)  This is a great time for students to buy small items for their loved ones.  We are not collecting clothing or large appliances.  Please drop off items to the office anytime now.  We appreciate your support!

Once again, it is getting quite chilly outside.  We will try to be outside as much as possible, so please make sure your children are bundled up.  There are a ton of items in the lost and found, so you may want to have a look for missing coats, hoodies, hats and mitts.

Remember Falcons, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe!

Have a nice long weekend,

Melissa Savoie
