Simonds at Disability Awareness Week

Disability Awareness Week (DAW) ran from May 29th to June 2nd and was topped off with the "Walk and Roll" at 12:15 pm today.  Across the province, people were encourage to gather and walk for 15 minutes to show their support and bring awareness to this year’s theme “We Need In”.

Simonds High School showed its support by attending the" Walk and Roll" in beautiful Uptown Saint John.  We were the only school in attendance and were very proud to be there.  Students from TADD, SRC and We Got Your Back gathered to attend this event.  We are very fortunate this year to have had two pairs of siblings at SHS that walked and rolled together.  Miranda & Mykela Wortman and Mallory & Cassidy Ross lead the way as Simonds pride continues to be seen.  We are already talking about next year’s event so stay tuned.

Special thanks to Mr Keating, Ms Jamieson, all the EAs who attended,  and the bus drivers that made this event possible for all of us to attend.
