Hello! Today is Wednesday, October 19th and this is Ms. McGrath calling with the weekly messages for students and their families.
We are finally getting back into a regular pattern after our extended Thanksgiving weekend. Today all students participated in our annual School Bus Safety Training.
As you heard earlier in the week, we are actively seeking photos or memorabilia for our 40th Anniversary celebration. If you have something you would like to share, please forward it to us here at the school. More details on this event will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.
Just a few reminders today:
-Please do not enter the main traffic circle when picking up or dropping of students during arrival and departure times. This causes problems for our buses and it is very dangerous to have traffic moving in this area as students are entering and leaving the building. Parents are asked to use one of the lower parking lots either by the Zamboni doors at the rink or the main lot on Epworth Park Drive by the school sign.
-I want to remind families once again that we have a plan for emergency situations here at the school and this includes instructions for families. Please review this plan which is attached to this message and is also available through a link at the very top of our web page at rvms.nbed.nb.ca. We do practice regular emergency drills monthly and practice a lockdown at least once every school year.
-Our Halloween Dance is scheduled for next Thursday, October 27th from 6-8 pm. The cost is $5 and students may wear a costume. We do ask for no masks, no replica weapons or pointy items and, this year, no clowns. Makeup is allowed but should be applied at home. Indoor shoes are always required at dances. Please consider sending a food donation along to the dance in support of local food banks.
