Hello! Today is Monday, September 18th and this is Ms. McGrath calling with a few messages for Raiders and their families.
First of all I would like to thank my Staff, our Student Leaders and all of the Raider Families who stopped by our Open House/Meet the Teacher evening last week. We had a great turnout and really appreciate all of your support.
Don’t forget that this Wednesday, Sept 20th is a half day for students across the school district. Our walkers will be dismissed at 11:35 with our buses scheduled to depart between 11:40 and noon for our bus students.
Your child should have brought home a brochure about the New Report Card. This is also posted in several places on our website. It will be a big change for parents, students and teachers, so please take a look when you get a moment so you will know what to expect on the Report Card in November. There is also some supplementary information about Assessment on the website under the “Hot Topics for Parents” tab.
Our School pictures are scheduled with Photography Flewwelling for next Wednesday, September 27th.  The photographers suggest students wear bright colours and avoid loud or busy patterns. Of course shirts with inappropriate logos or messages are not allowed. Our Gr. 8 students traditionally wear a white shirt or a white shirt with a tie for their Gr. 8 picture and, although most students choose this option, this is not a requirement.
Finally, I need to let you know that we have had one confirmed case of Chicken Pox in the building this week. If your child has not had Chicken Pox or received the Varicella vaccine, please be on the lookout for raised, itchy spots.
