Hello! This is Ms. McGrath calling with some messages for Raiders and their families.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 14th is a day for Report Card preparation for teachers. There is no school for students tomorrow.
I have attached copies of our new ASAP schedule. This schedule runs from March 12-May 3. Once again, we thank all of the staff who volunteer their time to run these activities at our school.
Report Card time is almost upon us. I have also attached a copy of the new grading scale. At this time in the year, we want to see 3 or above. Students who have a 2 still need to work on some outcomes and students who have a 1 are struggling and may not meet Grade level outcomes this year.
An opportunity to speak to your child’s teaching team will be schedule during parent/teacher meetings at the end of the month. Please attend if your child’s marks are below a 3, or contact your child’s teachers to discuss concerns.
We have had a few extreme allergic reactions to scent in our building recently. All students and staff have been reminded that the “no scent” policy applies to all provincial buildings including schools. Staff and students cannot wear any scented items and we certainly cannot use scented items in the building. This includes hand sanitizer, hand cream and deodorants. Please take this into consideration when preparing your child for school.
Also, I have attached another copy of the information brochure about the free parent sessions being offered. Wednesday, March 14th at 6:30 at Harbour View High School Dr. Daniel Chorley’s presentation discusses Teen Depression and next Wednesday, March 21st, at 7:00 pm, Bayside Middle School hosts a presentation about Drug Awareness.

Friday, March 23               8:30 a.m. and on you can make appointments for Parent/Teacher meetings
Monday, March 26          Report Cards go home
Wednesday, March 28   Parent/Teacher meetings 5-8 pm
Thursday, March 29        No school for students
Thursday, March 29        Parent/Teacher meetings 1-3 pm
Friday, March 30               No school for students (Good Friday)
Monday, April 2                                No school for students (Easter Monday)
