Hello! Today is Wednesday, April 18th and this is Ms. McGrath calling with a message for Raiders and their families.
We have a dance scheduled tomorrow, Thursday, April 19th from 6-8 pm. This dance is sponsored by our GSA group. The cost is $5. Indoor shoes are required and Chef Frank will have a canteen available with drinks and snacks. Please ensure that students do not arrive at school wearing any scented products as they will be turned away at the door if they are wearing scent.
We have a few school holidays upcoming;
Wednesday, April 25th is another ½ day for students with dismissal occurring between 11:30 and 12:00.
Friday, May 4th and Monday, May 7th are PD Days for teachers and there is no school for students on those days.
I want to remind families, as we have reminded students several times lately,  that students may only travel on their assigned bus. They may not travel on any other bus. Students who do not follow this rule may lose their bussing privilege. As well, students who leave school property (and this includes the rink) cannot then return to school to take a school bus home. Once students have left the property, transportation must be provided by families.
I also wanted to talk briefly about our Gr. 8 Cabaret and Year-end Award Ceremony.
Cabaret is for Gr. 8 students and their families. Each student may purchase 3 tickets to attend (one for themselves and one for each of their parents). We take pictures, serve a meal and watch the year-end video together. Families then leave and the students have a dance. Many students choose to dress up for this event but it is not a prom and prom dresses and tuxes are not required. Most students choose to either wear a dress or a shirt and tie but all school appropriate attire is welcome. More information will be sent home to the Gr. 8 students as we approach year-end. The date for our Cabaret is Wednesday, June 20th.
Our year-end Award ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, June 21st at 9:30 a.m. More details to follow on that as well.
