Hello! Today is Monday, November 3rd and this is Ms. McGrath calling from RVMS with the weekly messages for Raiders and their families.
 
First of all, a reminder that Report Cards are scheduled to go home this Friday, November 7th and Parent/Teacher Meetings are next week. They are scheduled for Thursday evening, November 13th from 5-8 pm and Friday afternoon, November 14th from 1-3 pm. Appointments can be made by calling the main office beginning on Friday, November 7th. The number is 738-6500.
 
There is no school for students next Tuesday, November 11th because of Remembrance Day and also no school on Friday, November 14th for teacher professional development and parent teacher meeting. That means that next week is only a 3 day week for students.
 
We have several activities and events scheduled this month beginning with an anti-bullying presentation on Thursday afternoon. For more information on our visiting speaker please go to www.retrobill.com
 
As well, our annual Ski Club is beginning preparations to go to Poley mountain on Thursday evenings beginning in January. This activity is open to all students whether they are experienced skiers or snowboarders or if they have never been on skis or snowboards before and would like to learn. Information will be available in the office beginning tomorrow morning.
Two final notes, we ask that all students remember that it is now Canadian Winter and they must wear coats or at least a hoodie when they are outside.
 
Visitors to the building are also reminded that they must always stop and check in at the office and cannot simply proceed upstairs. This applies to all visitors at all times. I am sure you can appreciate that this is a safety protocol. Parents who need to speak with their child or want access to their childs locker or belongings must stop at the office to make arrangements before proceeding into the building.
