Hi everyone,
It’s Lisa Jardine calling from Leatherbarrow Primary School with your Tuesday talk mail.

It’s so nice to be back at school with the children! We really missed them and we are happy to settle back into a school routine.

Congratulations to Debbie Saunders who was the winner of our Mother’s Day gift basket. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets!

May is a very busy month! Grade 2 students will begin Provincial Reading Assessments next week, and all students have begun working on their art work for Art from the Heart! In terms of AFTH, we will be sending home a letter about AFTH and a BBQ order form this week. We had sent home a design sheet for the Market Art that will be displayed that night, and then moved to the City Market. We had asked for interested students to submit their plans last week but with the flooding, some may have forgotten and we want to give everyone a chance, so anyone who is still interested, please send in the plan by this Friday.

For another art project, we are looking for volunteers who would be willing to cut small tree trunks into disks, or cookies. If you are handy with a chainsaw and have time to help us, please contact us at the school, and we will give you the specifics. Many hands will make light work, and could save a hand of someone like me who should not be near a chainsaw.

Thanks to the kindness of the Hampton Rotary, all grade 2 students are receiving a bike helmet. Mrs. Brenton has done a lesson on bicycle safety and your child will be coming home with their helmet this week.

That’s it for today! Thanks for listening! Have a wonderful day!
