Re: POSITIVE COVID-19 CASE AT CONNAUGHT STREET SCHOOL

Dear Parents and Guardians of Connaught Street School,

We have been informed of a positive Covid-19 case at Connaught Street School. We are working with Public Health officials to identify any students and school personnel who may have been in contact with the case.

Public Health is currently conducting contact tracing. Starting this evening, your child and all household members are required to self-monitor for 14 days. Please note that this is not a period of self-isolation unless Public Health advises you directly.

Tuesday, May 25, will be an operational day. This means there will be no instruction for students. Instead, teachers will connect with families to share the plan for distance learning. This will be done electronically or by telephone. There will be several days this week where learning will need to occur from home. We will connect with you again when we have more information to share.

Please note, if you or your child is showing any symptoms of Covid-19, you should:

  1. Register online for a test by clicking “Get tested” on the GNB coronavirus website (www.gnb.ca/coronavirus). OR
  2. Contact Tele-Care 811.

The 811 operators will evaluate your child before sending them for testing. If you have Public Health-related questions, please write to COVID-19NB@gnb.ca

Thank you for your continued support as we respond to the pandemic.

Sincerely,

David McTimoney, Superintendent
