Strike Update: Distance Learning Planned for Week of November 1

October 29, 2021,

Dear Students and Families

Thank you for your patience today. This is to inform you that all schools will move to distance learning on Monday, November 1, due to legal strike action on the part of CUPE Locals 2745 and 1253. Please be prepared for sustained at-home learning until the work stoppage is over.

Your school will contact you with details regarding your child(ren)’s learning plan. Just as they have done in response to Covid-19, teachers will provide distance learning instruction in an age-appropriate manner for the younger grades, and for most middle and secondary students, the expectation will be to follow regular class schedules online. Please watch for communications from your principal and teacher(s).

We will touch base with you again next week or earlier if the situation changes.

Thank you for your understanding and continued cooperation throughout this time.

Have an enjoyable weekend.

Sincerely,

David McTimoney, Superintendent
