On Behalf of our wonderful staff at Simonds High School, a warm welcome is extended to all of our new and returning students and their families.

1.) Open House- Meet and Greet with staff on Tuesday, September 12^th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.  An information session (approx 15 minutes) regarding the school will begin at 6:00pm in the Theatre.

2.) Student Fees- $20 per student (cash only) to be paid asap. Please note, students cannot participate in athletics/student council activities until student fee is paid. School rules/policies can be located our website.

3.) Yearbooks- $60 per book (cash only) and must be purchased by Friday, February 2^nd. Please note, there will be no extra books ordered due to the cost.

4.) Graduation Fees- $45 (cash only), must be paid by Friday, April 27^th.

5.) Grade 9 Immunization Clinic- Tuesday, Nov. 7^th in the gymnasium. Grade 9 Meningitis and Varicella. Parental consent is required and forms will be sent home by the end of September.

6.) Athletics- Mr. Doug Deering is the S.P.R. of Athletics. Any questions and/or concerns can be directed to Mr. Deering at 658-2578 or doug.deering@nbed.nb.ca  The payment for sports this year are as follows:

    Fall Sports: Baseball $100, Field Hockey $100, Football $300, Soccer $100, Softball $100, Swimming $70

    Winter Sports: Basketball $170, Cheerleading $135, Girls Ice Hockey $600

    Spring Sports: Badminton $40, Rugby $120, Track and Field $40, Volleyball $150

7.) School Pictures- Sept. 18^th and 19^th. Any questions please contact Mr. Dumas (V. P.).

8.) Graduation Pictures- Week of October 23^rd at the school. Sign-up sheet in the office.

9.) 2018 Graduation Prom- Monday, June 18^th at the Delta Hotel with Grand March at 7:00pm.

10.) 2018 Graduation Ceremony- Thursday, June 21^st beginning at 7:00pm in the gymnasium.

11.) The PowerSchool ‘Public Portal’ for students and parents to monitor marks, attendance, etc. and to contact teachers via e-mail is operational. Please call the school for information to access the portal.

12.) All New Brunswick schools are ‘TOBACCO FREE SCHOOLS’ (SMOKE FREE). Please refrain from smoking when on school property.

13.) Attendance Matters- “At Simonds High School we believe that a young person’s success at school is best assured if home, school and students are working together”. Please see the reverse side for details.

14.) Locked Doors- All exterior doors will be locked at 9:00am, unlocked at 12:34pm for the lunch break and re-locked at 1:25pm. All exterior doors still have the ‘push out’ ability to exit the building. Visitors will have to use the intercom system, located at C building doors, to enter the school.
