Outdoor Pursuits on Frye Island

Today my Outdoor Pursuits class and I worked on Frye Island in the Bay of Fundy. We boarded a boat at Back Bay, piloted by Cook Aquaculture, and headed to the deserted island. It was an amazing day. We saw much history, found wonderful treasures and wildlife, I was given gifts of dead animals to further adorn my desk (what every science teacher loves and appreciates) :) We equally helped Andrew, from the Nautre Trust and outward Bound Canada, to mark a trail on the island. I hope to instill a passion for the Bay of Fundy, to create a sense of pride in my students so that they take on a role, no matter how small, for local conservation and the small place we call home on this planet.
