St. Malachy's Memorial High School

"I chose Saint Malachy’s  because of the AP program . Little did I know at the time that this was the best decision I could’ve made for my education as I will be receiving my AP Capstone diploma at the end of this school year. The AP Seminar and AP Research courses included in this program allowed me to learn essential educational and life skills through a topic of personal interest. The beauty of this program stems from education through our passions which makes everyday in class so gratifying. Apart from the 2 core courses of the capstone program I chose 6 additional AP classes to complete, each of which are taught by some of the most amazing teachers I’ve met. These individuals are so passionate about the lessons they teach and are able to conceptualize complex university level topics into ideas their students can grasp. I am so grateful for the opportunities the AP Capstone Program has, and will continue to, provide me with and urge every future Saint out there to pursue their education through this rewarding program."

Why Choose AP:
Are you ready for a unique learning experience that will help you succeed in college? Through AP's college-level courses and exams, you can earn college credit and advanced placement, stand out in the admission process, and learn from some of the most skilled, dedicated, and inspiring teachers in the world.

A Different Kind of Class:
From the moment you enter an AP classroom, you'll notice the difference—in the teacher's approach to the subject, in the attitude of your classmates, in the way you start to think. In AP classrooms, the focus is not on memorizing facts and figures. Instead you'll engage in intense discussions, solve problems collaboratively, and learn to write clearly and persuasively.

Prepare to Succeed in College:
AP courses can help you acquire the skills and habits you'll need to be successful in college. You'll improve your writing skills, sharpen your problem-solving abilities, and develop time management skills, discipline, and study habits.

Earn College Credit and Placement:
Most four-year colleges in the United States and colleges in more than 60 other countries give students credit, advanced placement or both on the basis of AP Exam scores. By entering college with AP credits, you'll have the time to move into upper level courses, pursue a double-major or study abroad.

Parents and Guardians:
With AP, students are able to experience the rigors of college-level studies while they still have the support of a high school environment. Resourceful and dedicated AP teachers help their students develop and apply the skills, abilities and content knowledge they will need later in college. What’s more, by participating in AP, your child has the opportunity to earn college credit and to stand out in the college admission process.
