Final Assessment Week!

 

Final Assessments begin tomorrow Monday, June 12 and run through until Thursday, June 15th.  Students are asked to be present in the room where they are writing at 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start time and 12:45 pm for the 1:00 pm start time.

PowerSchool Parent/Public Portal
Anglophone South School District will turn off access to the Parent/Public PowerSchool Portal tomorrow Monday, June 12 at noon.  Should you have any questions please contact the school at 658-5361.

 

St. Malachy’s Student Representative Council 2023 - 2024

 

Thank you to all students who ran for SRC Executive positions for the upcoming school year.  The following will represent St. Malachy’s next year: President – Thomas Cho, Vice-President- Luke Fitzgerald, Grade 12 Representative – Ava Mason, Grade 11 Representative – Cameron D’Arcy, and Grade 10 Representative – Sarah Daigle.   Interviews for the other SRC positions will take place this week.  I would like to thank all of the students who put their name forward and offered for a position.

 

 

St. Malachy’s Cell Phone Policy (2023 – 2024)

 

Last Thursday, staff shared St. Malachy’s Cell Phone Policy that will come into effect for September 2023. The goal of the policy is to limit distractions and increase engagement in class. The policy is available on our website.

 

Grade 10 and 11 STM Students who are Interested in Art

Do you plan on going on to a post-secondary fine art or fine craft & design school? Then you should apply for the Saint John Arts Center Portfolio Program for next year. It is a scholarship program that you must apply for. A 30-minute interview will be conducted September 16. • The program runs for 20 weeks. • Wednesday evenings (6:30-8:30) and Saturday afternoon (1:00 - 4:00). • There are only 8 seats available. Selection of the eight students is made following the interviews on September 16. Please see Ms. Melinda Sheehan or send her a message on email or Teams.

ST. VINCENTS’S BOYS / ST. MALACHY’S ALUMNI REUNIOIN

The annual St. Vincent’s Boys/ St. Malachy’s Alumni reunion dinner will take place this Friday, June 16 – Bishop Bray Gymnasium – St. Malachy’s Memorial High School.  The evening will begin at 6:00p.m. for a social hour, followed by dinner at 7:00p.m.  Tickets are $50.00 ($20.00 for the members of the class of 2023) and are available at the front office.  If you have any questions, please contact the main office at 658-5361.

 

Graduation 2023

Members of the Class of 2023 are asked to check the school’s website for details regarding graduation activities beginning Monday, June 19th through until Thursday, June 22nd the day of the Graduation Ceremony, followed by Safe Grad.   The Baccalaureate service on Monday June 19th with be held at the Cathedral. We would ask graduates to arrive at 6:30 pm.

St. Malachy’s Graduation “Class of 2023”. Please mark these important dates into your calendar.  Graduation and associated events will take place the week of June 19 - 23, 2023.  Dates and locations for graduation activities are:

-          Monday, June 19 - St. Malachy’s Baccalaureate Service – Cathedral of Immaculate Conception. (7:00 pm)

-          Tuesday, June 20th - Prom – Saint John Trade & Convention Centre (7:00 pm)

-          Thursday, June 22nd – St. Malachy’s Graduation Ceremony - Imperial Theatre (7:00 pm)

** Graduation fee is $125 which covers graduation gowns, facilities rentals, and graduation materials.

 

Grad Class BBQ

 

Wednesday June 15th, 2023 – 1:00 pm – 3:00pm in the Gymnasium.

This is a social event for Grad 12’s. They have a barbecue, yearbook signing, and watch a year end video. All graduates welcome. No fee.

 

 

Safe Grad

Your grad class is going swimming and bowling after graduation on Thursday June 22 from 10:30pm - 2:30am. You must sign up on Cashless Schools to participate. The cost is $30. The deadline to sign up is Sunday June 18th.

 

 

Graduation Reception

Members of the SRC Executive will be contacting Parents/Guardians of Grade 11 students, the Class of 2024, for donations of sweets for the Graduation Reception for the Class of 2023, taking place after their Graduation Ceremony on June 22nd.  The initial telephone call will be followed by a talk-mail message informing you when and where to leave your contributions on June 22nd.  In turn, the Class of 2025 will look after the reception for your sons/daughters.  On behalf of the Graduation Committee, I would like to thank you in advance for your continued support and generosity.

 

 

**Please Note:

Students in Grade 12 will pick-up their report cards on Wednesday, June 21st at 2:30 p.m.. Graduation tickets will be handed out in the front foyer at that time.

Students in Grades 9, 10 and 11 will pick-up their report cards, from their homeroom.
