Mission Statement
The mission of St. Malachy’s Memorial High School is to create an environment in which students excel academically and to provide a safe and supportive community which encourages growth and contribution to the larger community.

St. Malachy’s Memorial High School is committed to educating the whole person. Through a rigorous and comprehensive program of studies we prepare students academically, socially and morally to assume their places as conscientious, involved and contributing members of society.
The AP Exams continue through to May 16th. If you have any questions regarding this initiative, please see Mrs. Barrington.
The June Exam Schedule has been distributed to all students and the schedule has been posted to our website. Please Note: Exams will be written June 11th-15th.
2012 Machy Event-Thursday, May 31st-6:30p.m.-Bishop Bray Gymnasium-Dinner & Presentations. Join us as we celebrate a very successful 2011-2012 school year. Tickets are now on sale in the Resource Room-Cost $8.00…Dress-Semi-Formal. **Please Note: The Machys will be preceded by the AP Art Show-5:30p.m.
The annual St. Vincent’s Boys/St. Malachy’s Alumni Reunion Dinner will take place Friday, June 15th -Bishop Bray Gymnasium-St. Malachy’s Memorial High School. The evening will begin at 5:30p.m. with a Wine & Cheese social hour, followed by dinner at 7:30p.m. Tickets are $40.00 ($20.00 for members of the Class of 2012) and are available at the school office. If you have any questions, please call the school at 658-5361.
The Sr. Boys Volleyball Team represented St. Malachy’s well in NBIAA provincial play this past Friday & Saturday. Thanks to the boys for a great season and a sincere thank you to Coach Mr. Scott Shepard for his expertise and for his commitment to the team! Well done!
A number of STM Grade 9 students attended the NB Math competition, held at UNBSJ on Friday, May 11th. The day was interesting and challenging and enjoyed by those students in attendance. Thanks are extended to Ms. Amanda Harris for accompanying the students to the competition.
Congratulations to our Envirothon Team-Brittney Allen, Carter McGrath, Jenna Richard, Joma Dix and Caroline Quinn for their great showing at the Envirothon NB competition held this past weekend at UNB in Fredericton. The team placed 4th provincially and they placed second in the Soils category of field testing as well as 3rd in the Wildlife section. Thanks are expressed to Mr. Aaron Abbott and to Mrs. Erin Touchie for their work with the team and for accompanying the team to Fredericton.
Best Wishes are extended to Brittney Allen as she represents St. Malachy’s, District 8 and New Brunswick at the national Science Fair being held on Prince Edward Island. Good Luck Brittney!
The Sr. Boys Rugby team continues to do very well as they advance to Regional play in 1st place position for the south. The team won their final game of the regular season with a win over Simonds by a score of 64-5. The Sr. team will play Leo Hayes on Tuesday, May 22nd at home in a regional matchup. Our Jr. Boys team has also advanced to playoffs, finishing 1st in the south. They will most likely play on Saturday, May 19th versus the 2nd placed team in the west.
The SRC Campaigns/Speeches/Election will take place this week with the following schedule being followed:
Monday, May 14th-campaign posters go up…Wednesday, May 16th-speech presentations to Mr. Coombs and to Ms. Trenholm after school….Thursday, May 17th- speeches delivered to the student body, all posters must be down by 3:30p.m……Friday, May 18th-voting for SRC Executive during homeroom.
Grade 12 French Oral Interviews will take place on May 16th & May 17th. Please check the schedule posted outside the Main Office to ensure that you are on time for your appointment.

Monday, May 14th-Regular Schedule **SPR/Admin Meeting-8:00a.m. Rm. 201 **Grade 9 students will be called to the auditorium today for a presentation by the SJTCompany pertaining to Romeo and Juliette. **Please Note: There is a meeting at 3:40p.m. in the Library of the Machy Committee.
Tuesday, May 15th - Regular Schedule **SST Meeting-9:15a.m. Guidance Centre **Staff Meeting-3:40p.m. Library…if you are not able to attend please inform a member of the Admin Team.
Wednesday, May 16th-Regular Schedule **Please Note: There is a meeting at 3:40p.m. in the Library of the Literacy Committee. **Expo Celebration-6:30-8:30p.m.-Lord Beaverbrook Rink-all are welcomed to attend. Come see the wonderful events that have happened during the school year 2011-2012 in School District 8. All District 8 schools will be represented at this event.
Thursday, May 17th - Assembly Day Schedule…Schedule as follows: 1,1,2,3 LUNCH 5,4. We will follow a Split Assembly Model with the Grade 9/10 classes going to the Gymnasium to hear the SRC speeches beginning at approximately 9:05a.m. At this time the Grade 11/12 classes will attend period 1. During the Second Period 1, the Grade 11/12 classes will go to the Gymnasium to hear the SRC speeches and the Grade 9/10 classes will attend period 1. Voting will take place during Homeroom class on Friday.
